Focus Areas

The Greater Washington region faces a wide range of challenges and opportunities. Through the WRAG network, our region's funders connect with each other around common areas of interest. Shared learning, aligned giving, and collaborative action are essential tools used by WRAG members to strengthen the District of Columbia, Northern Virginia, and suburban Maryland.

WRAG's primary focus areas currently are Children, Youth, and Families, Public EducationHealthy Communities, HIV/AIDS, Racism and Racial Equity, and Housing.

Ways to convene

To make a difference in the Greater Washington region, our grantmaking community needs to learn together and act together. In order to best support the varying levels of interest in diverse issue areas within our membership, the Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers formally convenes members in a number of ways, including:

  • Listservs
  • Brown bag discussions
  • Working Groups
  • Funding Collaboratives
  • Affinity Groups
  • Brightest Minds events
  • Time-sensitive briefings
  • Our Annual Meeting
