Children & Youth
The Children, Youth & Families Working Group meets quarterly to stay informed about issues affecting young people in the Greater Washington region.
The lack of reliable and centralized data at the local level can make it difficult for funders to assess impact, target resources, and identify programmatic gaps and opportunities. This panel will bring together nonprofits from DC, Maryland, and Virginia to identify what data is available in each state on children 0 to 5 and map comparable data across the region to help philanthropy better prioritize and target investments for young children.
CLASP's Child Care and Early Education team will discuss racial inequities in early care and education systems, how policies can advance or hinder racial equity, and implications for philanthropy when considering investment decisions in the early childhood education space.
These quarterly free lunch events provide representatives of local companies and foundations with an opportunity to get acquainted, learn more about Montgomery County funding priorities, and share best practices.
