From January - June 2018, WRAG and Leadership Greater Washington are collaborating on Putting Racism on the Table: Expanding the Table for Racial Equity. The goal is to expand the regional, cross-sector network of philanthropic, nonprofit, and civic leaders who understand racism and are committed to working for racial justice.
At a kick-off reception at Ben's Chili Bowl, Dr. Bernard Demczuk, retired George Washington University professor and the restaurant's official historian, discussed why we have to understand the racial history of DC and the US in order to address the root causes of the inequities we see today.
