About the Opportunity
The Howard and Geraldine Polinger Family Foundation is seeking an Operations Assistant to support, create, and refine the Foundation’s systems and processes. This role is critical to ensuring the Foundation operates efficiently, which drives our resources toward our grantee partners. Key roles and responsibilities are listed below:

Assist with preparation of materials for Board meetings and retreats

Provide support around Board and Committee meetings related to scheduling, notetaking, and disseminating documents and related materials.

Provide general office organization, including maintaining files, receiving and sorting mail, and generally ensuring efficient Foundation operations.

Provide general office maintenance, including supply monitoring and ordering, and communication with building management and vendors.

Process expense and reimbursement requests in coordination with Director of Knowledge Management.

Assist with grants management system data entry.

Assist with research in areas such as technology platforms and systems and operational processes.

Ensure effectiveness of telecommunications and technological systems and resolving problems when they occur in coordination with IT consultant, as needed.

Help communicate Foundation guidelines, policies, and mission to grant-seekers and potential applicants.

Maintain Foundation website and online presence.

Support and work in coordination with Foundation staff, as needed.

Compensation and Benefits
This position reports to the Director of Knowledge Management. At 15 hours per week, this is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position that will be compensated at $25-30 per hour, commensurate with experience. This is an in-person position with occasional, pre-planned opportunities to work from home. The specific allotment of the 15 hours across the week is open to discussion upon hire.
This position will have 48 hours of PTO (combined vacation, sick, personal) in the first two years of employment, expanding to 64 hours in year three and beyond. The Foundation observes all federal holidays, provides up to 8 weeks of parental leave and $2,500 to supplement DC Paid Family Leave benefits, and additional paid time off for jury duty and voting.
