Our Office Assistant is a key member of our operations team, providing exceptional customer service both internally to our staff and subtenants and externally to our members and clients. This individual ensures our office runs smoothly, provides administrative support to the organization, and assists our member relations team by processing telephone, in-person, and online orders and answering questions. Our Office Assistant position is incredibly important; this person is our first impression with our members and clients when they call or visit BoardSource.


Our Office Assistant provides overall office support, which includes responsibilities such as

  • greeting guests, processing mail, packages and invoices
  • coordinating conference room rentals and usage
  • providing logistical support for staff meetings and trainings
  • being a point of contact for subtenants, property management, and suite maintenance
  • managing BoardSource’s supply inventory
  • providing overall administrative support to human resources and other departments as needed
  • assisting IT with troubleshooting printers, phones, and computer issues


The ideal candidate will be highly responsive, customer focused, and possess at least one year each of administrative support and customer service experience. This individual must be experienced with the Microsoft Office suite and databases, demonstrate a high level of organization, professionalism, and sound judgment, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills. BoardSource's typical business hours are Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm however; this position may be required to flex their schedule periodically to provide support to morning meetings or evening events. To be successful in this role, this positive-minded, self-starter must be meticulous with details and exceptional with time and project management, creating organizational systems, and prioritization. This individual must be comfortable with technology to learn basic troubleshooting of printers, telephones and conference room technologies. Candidates must be interested in the nonprofit sector and able to work effectively in a highly collaborative team environment as well as independently.
