The Manager of Program & Evaluation Services reports to the Associate Vice President of Consulting & Learning Practice and oversees a team of four. This individual will work in collaboration with the associate vice president to design, develop, implement and evaluate nonprofit board leadership research and consulting projects — and other strategic initiatives — in alignment with BoardSource’s service-provider and learning agendas, with a focus on implementing learnings from consulting projects into resources, methodologies, content, and other BoardSource practices.

The Manager of Program & Evaluation Services is primarily responsible for internal oversight and implementation of BoardSource’s consulting and assessment services including strategy, budgeting, and revenue projections. The consulting services oversight may include an intake process for core consulting methodologies or project scoping with budgeting for consulting learning projects, consultant matching, internal coordination, project management, and evaluation of projects.  This individual will work collaboratively with the associate vice president to identify and implement learning projects, as well as translate the learnings back into the consulting practice and out through BoardSource’s network of leaders. The manager will also coordinate with external research contractors to create and implement rigorous evaluation methods for BoardSource consulting learning projects and other strategic initiatives.  Additionally, this individual will be responsible for oversight of the assessment services team, whose members are responsible for client technical support and implementation of all BoardSource online assessment survey tools, such as board assessment and CEO assessments, benchmarking, and survey updates. These tools may be used individually by organizations or as part of other consulting services.

The ideal candidate must possess seven or more years of experience managing consulting services, ideally in the areas of nonprofit management, assessment services, or research. Candidates should possess relevant experience overseeing proposal development, large client project management, and project evaluation with the ability to balance simultaneous projects successfully. Individuals must exhibit aninclusive and flexible leadership style with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment both as a leaders and individual contributor. Strong supervisory skills are a must, including team and individual goal development, coaching, and staff development.
