Rural justice and racial justice are inextricably linked. As such, philanthropy must investigate the ties between race, access to land, and land use.
WRAG will explore the experiences of the farming community in the greater Poolesville area in Maryland, connecting the philanthropic community to a local rural community to elevate the voices of these agricultural workers.
Together we will investigate how philanthropy can be an ally to local rural communities, identify their funding needs, and understand what grantmaking practices might be most accessible and effective for these individuals.
Bus transportation will be provided to those who do not plan on driving. The WRAG team will follow up with registered attendees to share travel logistics.
