Family Philanthropy Affinity Group: Ten Things You Didn't Know You Could Do With Your Foundation
Eligible to attend: Staff and trustees of family foundations
Registration: This event is sold out!
Are you getting the most out of your foundation? Much of what we are taught about family foundations focuses on their restrictions — what they can’t do. In truth, one of the greatest attributes of family foundations is their flexibility. The IRS gives wide latitude to undertake creative, inventive, and effective programs to pursue their missions.
Join your colleagues for lunch with Andrew Schulz, Executive Vice President of Foundation Source, for a discussion that will help you better understand the tools available to you, from grants to non-charities, direct charitable activities, scholarships, and international grants, to program-related investments (PRIs), mission-related investments (MRIs), and even advocacy and policy engagement.
Andrew Schulz is nationally recognized as an authority on private foundations and a sought-after speaker and educator on the topic of philanthropy. As Executive Vice President of Foundation Source, he is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the resources, relationships, and dynamics of the Foundation Source community of grantmakers, philanthropists, advisors, attorneys, and others aligned around private foundations across the country.
Prior to joining Foundation Source, Mr. Schulz was Vice President of Legal and Government Relations for the Council on Foundations, and headed the Council’s Public Policy Department. He is a member of the Maryland and District of Columbia Bars.
