In 2016, the local philanthropic community undertook a year-long learning and training journey, entitled Putting Racism on the Table, to develop a shared understanding of racism and how it relates to many of the entrenched challenges facing our region. This learning was meant to be a precursor to action to advance racial equity.

Now, we are pleased to announce the launch of the Racial Equity Working Group, co-chaired by Yanique Redwood (Consumer Health Foundation) and Rick Moyers (The Meyer Foundation). This working group is open to all WRAG members. Please join us for a kickoff meeting on February 16 to determine the learning and action agenda for this group.

James Baldwin once said, "Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced." This working group will be an important part of the leadership that our region needs to continue to face racism – and to change it.
