Exponent Philanthropy, Southeastern Council of Foundations and the Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers invite you to join us for the Northern Virginia Local Engagement Group Meeting, Lessons Learned from Grantmaking Mistakes.

What can we learn from our grantmaking mistakes? What would we do differently, given the chance? How have these experiences made us more effective grantmakers? Participate in a candid, open-ended discussion with your peers and share your stories and lessons learned from your grantmaking experiences.

This peer-to-peer conversation also represents an opportunity to connect to a network of local funders and explore topics of interest in a small group. Light refreshments will be served.

Thank you to the Scheidel Foundation for hosting this peer-to-peer discussion.

Following the program, participants are invited to a lunch conversation on funding education at a nearby restaurant. Individuals are responsible for covering their own lunch costs.

This program is coordinated by the members of Exponent Philanthropy’s Northern Virginia Local Engagement Group (LEG). LEG programs provide opportunities for Exponent Philanthropy members to connect with and learn from other funders with few or no staff in their community. You do not have to be a member of the LEG to participate in this event. Want to learn more about this or other local programs? Contact Corey Jannicelli by email or at 202-580-6566.

Who Should Attend:
This program is open to foundation donors, trustees, and staff; individual donors; donor advised fund holders; members of giving circles.
