On January 2, D.C. inaugurated a new mayor. Mayor Muriel Bowser has taken the helm at a time when construction throughout much of the city signals a strong economic recovery. But serious challenges to the city’s long-term vitality remain, from housing affordability and homelessness, to educational and health disparities. Just a few days ago, the D.C. Fiscal Policy Institute reported that low-wage workers and those without a degree are being left out of the city’s economic growth. Clearly there is work to be done.
Join us for a private conversation with Mayor Bowser to hear more about her goals and priorities on the issues of importance to funders, and identify how philanthropy can engage with the mayor and D.C. government to collectively advance our vision for a more equitable city.
