Join the nation’s largest gathering of Black professionals in philanthropy at ABFE’s 2021 “HARAMBEE- LET’S ALL PULL TOGETHER” as we lift up our “Call to Action” as a path forward for us all.
Neglectful responses to a pandemic, state-sanctioned killings and social disruption will forever mark 2020 as a pivotal year for America and other nations. Foundations and other sectors expressed outrage at the neglect and made statements, declaring commitments to lasting social change and racial equity. For our 50th anniversary, ABFE is challenging individuals, philanthropy, and other sectors to live up to those commitments.
Tackling the racial inequity and systemic injustices exposed by, but pre-date COVID-19, will not be accomplished in a 3–5-year strategic plan or grant cycle. Black communities need commitment for long-term change that will not be deterred by changes in leadership or attention.
From April 21-23, you will experience 10 featured sessions that focus on one of our Call-to-Action issue areas. We will celebrate the work and challenge our thinking on how to do this work, do it better and do it for the long haul.
