This session will look at the nature of impact investments and mission-related investments and highlight what they are, how they are different from traditional investments, and why they may be attractive. We will hear from experts in the field who will discuss the costs and benefits of these investments (in terms of both performance and fees), the current trends and some of the key decisions that should be made surrounding policies, implementation, and monitoring of these types of investments. Additionally, we will examine some of the barriers to these types of investments and consider how they might be overcome.

  • Pam Rothenberg – Head of Impact Practice, Womble Carlyle
  • Rachel Reilly Carroll – Associate Director, Impact Investing, Enterprise Community Loan Fund
