For some time, there has been concern within the local grantmaking community about the lack of national-level, philanthropic support to address the needs of our region. Occasionally national funders have come into the region, but it has been rare and for relatively brief periods of time.
Arkansas was experiencing the same lack of national support until recently when the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation decided to be proactive and instituted the Why Arkansas? Campaign. Join us to hear from Dr. Sherece West-Scantlebury, the foundation's president and CEO, about the impact of their asset-based approach to bringing national funders into their state. Could this approach be a model for our region?
This meeting was re-scheduled from its original date in December.
