WRAG member CEOs are invited to hear from Dave Abbott, CEO of the George Gund Foundation in Cleveland, about how the foundation used social impact bonds to support social change in Cuyahoga County.
He will be joined by Eric Goulet, Budget Director, Mayor’s Office of Budget and Finance, and Deputy Chief of Staff for Mayor Vincent C. Gray, to discuss why the District is considering this option to finance some of its work in the city.
This approach to taking evidence-based interventions to scale began just three years ago in the United Kingdom. Now, cities across the U.S. are considering how they might use social impact bonds to accelerate work to address a number of social problems.
