In 2004, the D.C. Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services (DYRS) replaced the Youth Services Administration and instituted a number of juvenile justice system reforms, including the closure of the Oak Hill Youth Center in 2009. Many WRAG members were strong advocates for and deeply involved with bringing about these reforms.
Join WRAG to get an update from the new director of DYRS, Clinton Lacey. He will discuss his vision for the agency, how he plans to build on the successes of the YouthLink program, and how his community-based perspective will strengthen the work of the agency.
This brown bag discussion will provide an opportunity for you and your colleagues to share your own recent work in this area.
