Homelessness is a major issue affecting jurisdictions throughout the region. And, it is on the rise, particularly in D.C. According to a recent article in the Washington Post, family homelessness in the District has risen 100 percent over last year. This is a complex issue, and given the overall regional trend of increasing housing prices and a lack of affordable housing, it is likely to be a problem that isn’t going away.
Interested funders are invited to a brown bag lunch to discuss how they are supporting homelessness and related issues, both in the long term and in the immediate term. Bring your own lunch, and WRAG will provide beverages, dessert, and a safe space to share information with your colleagues.
