Why join the Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers?
Stay informed. WG is the central source for news and information about the field of philanthropy and its impact in our region. The
Giving Matters e-newsletter (for members only) is your heads-up on what's new in philanthropy and in our community.
Washington Grantmakers Daily keeps you up to date on the philanthropy news relevant to your organization and the change you seek. Attend our
Thought Leaders events to meet experts in the field. And on the members-only side of the website find sample materials and best practices from your colleagues around the country.

Raise your profile. Be seen. Be known. Share your knowledge for bigger impact. With media pitches, tweets, blog posts, articles, and reports, Washington Grantmakers helps members get the word out about community investments. We regularly spotlight the work and accomplishments of members in
WG Daily, feature
profiles of members in WG's
Giving Matters and promote members' events on the WG
community calendar. In addition, every WG event is a networking opportunity for members.
Let us introduce you to the people who make change happen.
Learn from fellow grantmakers. Washington Grantmakers offers nearly 100 opportunities each year for members to learn about the region and from each other. Our various
convening groups--five Working Groups, three Affinity Groups, two Funding Collaboratives, and two exclusive networks for CEOs and Trustees--help you efficiently and effectively connect with nearly 750 of your grantmaking colleagues.
Make smarter investments. We work with our members to tackle the region's most critical issues by convening working groups, arranging meetings with policymakers, developing recommendations for action and working together for greater impact. With common goals and grantees, WG members know the value of collaboration and are able to leverage their investments for greater impact.
Informal networks ("what if we put in $50K and you do $25K"),
funding collaboratives, and other
innovative partnerships help you maximize your community investments.
Get deals/discounts. Most WG events are free for members. For those few events that have a fee associated with them – such as our
Annual Meeting – members attend at a greatly reduced price. Members also receive discounts on a range of services, including free listings on WG's
job board, discounts on professional development workshops and special rates for event sponsorships and electronic and print advertisements. In addition, WG often secures member discounts for events hosted by our colleague organizations such as the Council on Foundations and Association of Small Foundations.
