Washington Grantmakers helps policymakers and their staffs connect with the ideas, insights, and investments of the region's giving community. Working together, our sectors will achieve better outcomes for our communities.
- WG's Health Working Group co-convened a meeting with the Obama-Biden Health Care Community Discussion Transition Project, and developed recommendations for addressing issues facing the area’s uninsured and underserved. The group is also partnering with local governments to find gaps in regional health services.

A D.C. Appleseed report (.pdf), commissioned by Washington Grantmakers' Washington AIDS Partnership, has become the city’s blueprint for change for addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
- Washington Grantmakers' Public Education Working Group keeps in close contact with DC Schools Chancellor Michelle Rhee to align efforts on D.C. education reform.
- Washington Grantmakers' Children, Youth, & Families Working Group is working with Vinny Schiraldi of the Department of Youth Rehabilition Services to bring ground-breaking juvenile justice reform to fruition in DC.
- Prince George’s County Council member David Harrington helped Washington Grantmakers' Sustainable Communities Working Group and the Prince George's Community Foundation to form the Partnership for Prince George’s County.
