Social Sector Innovation: A Response to Our Economic Reality
Are you ready for the leadership opportunity of a lifetime? Join us for Social Sector Innovation: Responding to Our Economic Reality with Dr. Susan Raymond. Some people might not define current economic challenges as just such an opportunity, but Dr. Raymond does. In fact, she thinks it is the perfect time for the social sector to expand its critical role in our community by emphasizing innovation in how, where, and why resources are allocated to problem solving. With belt-tightening happening on the federal and local government levels, and among many philanthropies and nonprofits large and small, the time for new and innovative approaches to social problem solving is now – for both foundations and their nonprofit grantees. By examining the “evolution” of philanthropy – from traditional grantmaking, to venture philanthropy, to entirely new kinds of “impact investing” – participants will be able to more effectively prepare for and address the difficult economic reality we are in, and ensure the social sector’s sustainability into the future.
