Volunteer service is on the rise and is placing increasing demands on non-profits to fully utilize this valuable resource. At the same time, funders are beginning to see service itself as a solution to many issues facing at risk communities. This teleconference will explore how funders can help their grantees and other nonprofits build their capacity to maximize the use of volunteers.
Speakers: Julie Fisher Cummings, managing trustee of the Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation and Kara Carlisle, program officer at the Kellogg Foundation and member of the Philanthropy for Active Civic Engagement funders affinity group
