High-level professional development opportunities for grantmakers are rare, but they do exist!

Washington Grantmakers is partnering with The Grantmaking School of Grand Valley State University to offer "Advanced Grant Portfolio Management: A Framework for Strategic Grantmaking." The course will be hosted by The Meyer Foundation in Washington, D.C.


Content: This is a newly revised course. Previously offered as two separate courses, The Grantmaking School has condensed the most relevant content into one highly informative and beneficial class for grantmakers with three or more years of experience. Revised course topics include:
  • Building and working with a strategic change framework
  • The many ways foundation professionals can and should add value to their grantmaking
  • Grantmaker techniques and cautions in providing value and ensuring alignment
  • The role of strategic communications in ongoing strategy development
  • The role of evaluation in strategic grantmaking
  • And more...


Tuition: In light of the economy, tuition for Advanced Grant Portfolio Management was recently reduced to $1295.
