Family Philanthropy Symposium: The Value of Family in Philanthropy

| Time: |
11:30 AM - 1:30 PM |
| Location: |
The German Marshall Fund 1700 18th Street, NW |
Join family foundation trustees from around the region for a dynamic, interactive discussion on the issues fundamental to the practice of family philanthropy. Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers and the National Center for Family Philanthropy are coming together to host a rare opportunity for family philanthropists to step back from their usual activities and consider, from their own experience, such issues as:
- What value does family participation add to the philanthropy?
- What are the greatest challenges facing donor families?
- What do you believe are the greatest opportunities for donor families?
- How do you see those opportunities and challenges changing in the next decade?
- What are your hopes for the future of family philanthropy?
The conversation will be led by Susan Price, Vice President of the National Center and author of The Giving Family: Raising Our Children to Help Others. You’ll leave this discussion with new insights, from experts and peers, about your own work and that of the field of family philanthropy. For more information or to register, contact Katy at moore@washingtongrantmakers.org or 202.939.3436.
This symposium is part of a nationwide dialogue conducted by NCFP to examine the value of family participation in philanthropy. Symposia have already been held in over 12 locations around the country (with huge success!). The findings will inform the content of NCFP’s national symposium in DC in September and a book to be published at year-end.
