How did you get started in corporate philanthropy?
I have had the responsibility for community relations and corporate citizenship for a number of years; part of my career is as a professional communicator. Now, philanthropy and community outreach is my key focus and I am loving it!

What’s your favorite part about your job?
The opportunity to meet new people, exchange ideas on programs and ways to help others, and actually experiencing how I am making a difference through volunteering and giving in the communities in which we serve.

Biggest challenge you’ve faced?
The biggest challenge for me is never having enough time and funds to support all the worthy organizations that provide assistance and support to those in need.

What's the most exciting project you worked on in the past year?
It was a huge rush to develop a volunteerism awareness program for Raytheon employees in the DC metropolitan area called "Rday to Shine". It was held during National Volunteer Week in April and resulted in more employees understanding community relations, the company's approach to philanthropy, and how they can become engaged. We experienced a sizeable spike in our employees stepping up to volunteer for community projects. This was a team effort and I am very proud of our success.
